Have you ever asked yourself, “how can we integrate cannabis into society and overcome anti-cannabis stigma?” If you have (and you happen to live in Western Australia), you might be interested in the 2021 Perth Cannabis Conference.
The conference will be held at Wilsmore Lecture Theatre on the University of Western Australia (UWA)’s Crawley campus on Sunday, October 3rd 2021.
The event will run from 10:30 am — 2:00 pm and cover everything from politics to science to social studies. The conference will include presentations from:
- Dan Roden, who will cover the history of cannabis stigma (Dan is SSDP’s current campus team leader)
- PhD candidate Moshe Meyers, who will talk about cannabis scienceÂ
- Dr Brian Walker MLC, who will talk about the politics of cannabisÂ
- Professor Simon Lenton, who will cover “middle-ground options for cannabis legalisation”
Dr Stephen Bright (a professor of addiction studies at Edith Cowan University) will host the conference.
The Perth Cannabis Conference has been put together by UWA’s Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) and the Australian Psychedelic Society (APS). If you are interested in the conference, you can book tickets here or find the event on Facebook here. General admission tickets are $15.
