Afends

Afends

Byron Bay NSW

Afends is an Australian-owned and operated sustainable clothing designer, manufacturer and retailer. Afends was first founded by Declan Wise and Jonathan ‘Jono’ Salfield in 2006. Afends is based in NSW’s Byron Bay (which both Wise and Salfield have a strong connection to).

In 2021, the business purchased a 40-hectare farm in Sleepy Hollow. Afends will use the Sleepy Hollow farm to grow hemp for their clothing once the farm is up and running.

Afends produces a wide range of clothing for both men and women. Over 60% of this clothing contains hemp fibre. Afends uses hemp in its designs because it is more sustainable than cotton.

Afends also prides itself on its ethical supply chain. The company has a strict set of Ethical Sourcing Standards (ESS) that govern its supply chain.
